Another day, another desert; this time the festival is in the Joshua Tree National Park. Serenity is aptly named. The night sky here is full of stars reaching to touch the horizon at every edge. The sunsets light the sky with rich hues.
Side note: Cactus. Yep, there was plenty of it. That part is not so serene.
This time I was prepared for the Costa Rican climate. Still, the heat took days to acclimatize to. Having bounced around during the year, the seasons are starting to get muddled together. The event sight was as intricate as I remembered from last year, with a few infrastructure upgrades.
The highlight of the trip down was our stop at Big Burger. Rarely, outside of the US can you find a burger like this; ½ Lb of Beef, and all the fixings for about 1,800 Colones! A great meal.
I was asked by a good friend to come and help run medical for San Diego’s regional Burning Man event. It was amazing. Words and pictures don’t do it justice. I was held on a campground on the La Jolla Indian reservation, and absolutely wonderful site. I look forward to next year.
